"When Batman And Robin Were Boys"

Batman did good things even when he was a little boy. He made his mom and dad proud of him all the time.

Batman had a good friend named Robin. When they were little boys they played games.

They would play like they were super heros and chase the bad guys.

Young Batman's mom let him and Robin have an old sheet to use for their capes.

They tied the sheets to their shirts, jumped out of a tree and pretended they were jumping on the bad guys.

This was a game they liked very much. Some times Batman would play like he was the bad man and Robin would jump on him.

Robin had a little bike and they said it was the Batbike. They would ride it all the time. They would play like they were in a big car.

Batman said when he grew up he was going to have a car and he would call it the Batmobile.

Robin said when he grew up he would have a boat and they would call it the Batboat. If they had a boat and a car they could catch the bad guys faster.

One day little Batman's dog got lost. His name was Rags but they called him the Batdog.

Young Batman first asked his mom if it was okay for him to leave the yard. She said yes but he must be very careful.

Batman and Robin looked and looked for him but they could not find him.

Robin said he would go home and get the Batbike so they could go farther away and not get tired when they try to find the Batdog.

They rode the Batbike all over town. They would call for the Batdog on each street.

"Here boy...here boy!" They would call. They could not find the Batdog any place.

They saw Mr. Brown and asked him, "Did you see my dog?" Mr. Brown told the boys no.

They saw Mr. Jones and asked. "Did you see the Batdog?" Mr. Jones also told the boys no.

As the boys were looking for the Batdog they saw a little girl. She was riding a little trike.

"Have you seen the Batdog?" The boys asked the little girl.

"Yes I did." The little girl said. "Come with me and I will show you where he is."

The little girl started to ride her trike across the busy street. She did not look both ways before she crossed the street.

You must always look both ways before you cross a street.

"Oh no!" Robin said. "We must save her. Here comes a big truck."

Young Batman jumped off his Batbike and ran down the street waiving his arms. He waived his arms so the truck driver could see him.

The truck driver saw him and stopped just in time before he hit the little girl.

"Oh my!" The truck driver said. "If you did not wave your arms at me I would have hit the little girl. You are a real hero!"

The boys said when they grew up they were going to help other people too.

Robin looked around and saw the Batdog running up to see what happened.

"Look...," said Robin, "Rags wants to be a hero too."

They boys laughed and thought that was funny.

When the boys grew up they became the real Batman and Robin and helped many people.

Now they are real "Super Heroes" helping little boys and girls like you.

The end.
